about us

about us

Set in the picturesque village of Puckane, located less then 10 minutes from Nenagh town, our playing facilities consist of two LED floodlit all weather tennis courts beside our club house with onsite parking.

Our club was established in 1991 by a group of local people with a vision to having a sports facility for use by people of all ages. Today(as of  Jan 2026) we have almost 400 members. The Competitions committee run 4 main events annually for all Adult members. Two of these are members only events – Our Club Spring Doubles and our Eddie Kelly Cup Comp.

Our Juvenile members have their own Calander of Events which typically runs from mid March to Aug. The courts were originally built in the late seventies as part of the Thatched Cottages development.

The courts were in need of repair by 1991 and with the cooperation of Tipperary Council the courts were leased by the Tennis Club. As the club has developed there have been several improvements to facilities over the years. Flood lighting was installed in 1999. The court surface was improved with the addition of an Omni surface in in 2004. The clubhouse was developed in 2007 with the addition of shower and toilet facilities.
Both courts were resurfaced in 2022, and the clubhouse underwent a refresh in 2024 – to include a new picnic social and viewing area! Parking is available at the courts, but during busy periods, parking is also permitted behind Kennedys Shop and Pub. (Parking is NOT permitted on the park grass area that leads down to the courts)
